Applied to fill or level imperfections on substrates of various kinds, before applying preparatory primers for the top coat. Except for copper and special stainless steels, it can be used on any type of metal substrate, including galvanized (electroplated/galvanized) sheet metal, aluminum, and brass. Application is possible on rust-proofing primers, insulating primers and fillers except for acid-hardening wash-primer and single-component synthetic resin-based primers or anchors. In case of application on old paints, make sure that they are completely dried and that they are not of thermosetting or elastic acrylic nature.
The wide range of substrates to which it can be applied, its exceptional trowelability, speed of drying and ease of sanding, make STK.900 a commodity especially suited in the Craft Bodywork sector. Exceptional adhesion to glass-fiber reinforced resin (UP-GF) substrates and the high percentage of resins in the formulation, make STK.900 suitable for repairs, including on living works, in the yachting industry. It is compatible with water-based painting systems.
Roughen the part to be treated with P 100 grit dry abrasive paper, then remove all traces of grease, oils, silicones, fingerprints, abrasive glues, release agents (on UP-GF) and dust, by means of anti-silicone washing thinner. When applying to old paint, roughen with P 320 grit dry sandpaper. Apply by trowel, even in successive coats spaced several minutes apart, spreading over the area to be repaired.
